When making an online game where players are allowed to make their own content, there's always the chance for some players to use offensive language in what they make. In order to avoid this, companies, like SPP, will censor certain words to avoid any cries of foul. For those of us who have been playing Infamous 2's UGC for a while however, we've ran into quite a few words have been censored that seem to be completely unoffensive. Obviously the F-word among others is blocked, but having to write dialogue without using the word 'after' because it's censored can get a bit frustrating.
The purpose of this thread is to list and discuss words that are censored in I2's UGC. I'll keep a list of any the people remember and update it in this initial post.
Unexpected Censored Words:-After
-Original
-Con
-Piss
-Damn
-Cul
-Pipe
-Bite
Some solutions to the unexpected censored words (Special thanks to GaNk1n1t): After - AftèrOriginal - OriginaI (Make the lowercase 'L' into an uppercase 'I'.)Con - CònPiss - Pìss (This also works for Pìssed.)Damn - Dàmn (This also works for Dàmmit.)Cul - CuI (Make the lowercase 'L' into an uppercase 'I'.)Pipe - PìpeBite - BìteBastard - Bàstard
(Capitalization does NOT affect the censor; since the censor is not case sensitive, it doesn't matter whether the letters are upper or lowercase.)
There are many ways to find loopholes using different accent lettered vowels. 'Accent graves'
(à, è, ì, ò, ù - À, È, Ì, Ò, Ù) can be used for these loophole words, allowing the player to bypass the censors. There's also two other letters not added in the solution known as
Ÿ, ÿ from 'Colon letters' and
Ñ, ñ from 'Tilde letters'. All these types of accented letters are included in the Playstation's keyboard text, so don't worry about not being able to place them in your texts for UGC, just press 'L2' with your controller while typing something to toggle between accents and English letters.
Another solution is to use an uppercase
'I' instead of a lowercase
'L', much like some of the examples listed above.
