Jean Bison Save Glitch
Workaround

The following procedure will work-around a save game which is "wedged" in the middle of the Jean Bison boss battle. Please note that this procedure will cause you to lose progress on 5 jobs in Episode 7.

Once you recomplete those jobs, you will be back ready to take on and defeat Jean Bison. Also please note that you should avoid manual saves between the Alarm Clock throwing portion of the Lumberjack Games, and the very end of Episode 7. The Auto Save system will not cause this bug to occur, and we encourage you to use and rely on it.

PROCEDURE:

  • Load your saved game.
  • Load the level for "Menace in the North, Eh?"
  • Pick Sly and leave the Safehouse.
  • Head East by Northeast to the Sawmill Laser room, where you performed the Laser Redirection job, shown below:

  • Enter the building, shown below:

  • Once inside, work your way around to the back where the guards are taking their break. Without destroying any bottles and sneaking past the guards, make your way to the ladder on the bottom floor. Climb the ladder to reach the floor with the moving lasers, as shown below:

  • Jump out onto the floor, and Jean Bison's voice should play over the Public Address system. Once you hear Jean Bison say, "Attention all you fellas working in the sawmill...", make your way to the exit ladder and head back outside.
  • As you climb the ladder that leads back outside, the following message will scroll by:

    "Warning! Using this passageway will abandon your current job!"

    Disregard the message and continue outside.
  • Return to and re-enter the Safehouse. Again, disregard the red warning about abandoning your job.

    • Your game should now have reverted back to an earlier point in Episode 7. Go ahead and save your game!

    The following jobs will be incomplete, and will need to be repeated before you can take on Jean Bison:

       Laser Redirection
       Lighthouse Break In
       Old Grizzle Face
       Boat Hack
       Thermal Ride

    Again, after completing these jobs you'll be able to take on Jean Bison. Please do not manually save your game between the Alarm Clock throwing portion of the Lumberjack Games, and the very end of Episode 7. The Auto Save system will take good care of you!
